Newburgh, IN --- During 2009, Heritage Federal Credit Union was pleased to be a proud sponsor / partner with 195 local organizations.  The credit union graciously donated funding and / or in kind gifts of $108,000+ to these fine organizations in order to support their various charitable causes.

In addition, Heritage Federal Credit Union’s 120 employees and volunteer board of directors, along with family and friends volunteered individual time and talents to 65 local organizations.  In fact, well over 1,400 hours were volunteered to local community organizations in 2009.

Ruth Gaon, CCE, President and CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union stated, “Credit Unions were founded on the philosophy of ‘People Helping People,’ and this philosophy was once again evident in Heritage Federal Credit Union employees, our volunteer board of directors and our families and friends. Special appreciation goes out to these volunteers for taking their personal time to support local community organizations without receiving direct compensation from the credit union.  These volunteer hours were conducted during non-business hours in the evenings and weekends.  In addition, the credit union conducted our data system upgrade in 2009 so these volunteer hours mean even more since all of our employees had to work extra hours throughout 2009 to support the conversion.  That’s what makes our dedicated employees special.  Regardless of their work load, they are still committed to giving back to their local communities even when it means making personal sacrifices!”
