Reported by: Jason Claspell Tuesday, Oct 13, 2009 @04:41pm CDT The American Red Cross along with their mascot "Cool Cat" are teaching area students how to stay safe in fire.
October is National Fire Safety Month. In this Family First we show you how area preschool students are learning it's cool to be safe. And the importance of making a family plan in case a fire ever happens. It's an effort by red cross workers to help prepare students in case an emergency happens. The students followed "Cool Cat" in learning how to stop, drop, and roll. They also learned how to come up with a safe meeting place in case their family gets separated. Officials with the American Red Cross say they will come out to any school or organization to do free fire safety demonstrations throughout October. |
