State announces energy-efficiency funds for farmers
(Frankfort) Governor Steve Beshear today announced that 850 thousand dollars in federal stimulus money is available to Kentucky farmers who want to become more energy efficient.
The funds will provide 25-percent reimbursement of the actual cost of a federally qualified energy-saving item up to 10 thousand dollars.
Eligible items include - but are not limited to - energy audits, energy-efficient farm-building components and on-farm energy upgrades and energy-efficiency training. Only expenditures made after October 15th of this year will be eligible for reimbursement.
The funds are being awarded through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. To download an application, those interested can visit agpolicy.ky.gov.
