(Frankfort) Governor Steve Beshear today announced that 850 thousand dollars in federal stimulus money is available to Kentucky farmers who want to become more energy efficient. The funds will provide 25-percent reimbursement of the actual cost of a federally qualified energy-saving item up to 10 thousand dollars. Eligible items include - but are not limited to - energy audits, energy-efficient farm-building components and on-farm energy upgrades and energy-efficiency training. Only expenditures made after October 15th of this year will be eligible for reimbursement. The funds are being awarded through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.
