Reported by: Web Producer Tuesday, Nov 24, 2009 @07:44am CST A Daviess County judge ruled an Owensboro man will be tried for capital murder, which means Brock Hanley could potentially face the death penalty.
Hanley appeared in court Monday. He is accused of gunning down clerk Suba Singh during a convenience store robbery in Daviess County last week. Law enforcement officials were on standby as Hanley was led into the courtroom. The commonwealth's attorney Bruce Keugel has not yet said if he will seek the death penalty. Daviess County Sheriff's detective Bill Thompson took the stand during the hearing to lay out the case against Hanley. Hanley's lawyer asked that his client's bond be reduced, but the judge refused due to the seriousness of the charges. |
