(Calabasas, CA) -- At least three red-headed students in Calabasas, California were kicked and beaten by classmates last week as part of a prank called "Kick a Ginger Day." More than a dozen students at a middle school in the Los Angeles suburb joined in the assaults that targeted kids with red hair, freckles and fair skin. The school's principal called sheriff's deputies after a 12-year-old boy went to the nurse with injuries from two attacks. Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies report the boy was kicked and hit Friday by as many as 14 classmates. "Kick a Ginger Day" is an Internet spoof sparked by a 2005 episode of "South Park." A Facebook page designated November 20th as the day to beat up redheads. Deputies are checking for a connection and a possible fourth victim.
