From: Indiana State Police Indiana State Police Participate in “Over the Limit under Arrest” Enforcement Campaign First Sergeant Rick Dick, Assistant Commander of the Evansville District, announced today the Evansville District will be participating in the upcoming Operation Pull Over, “Over the Limit under Arrest” enforcement campaign. The traffic enforcement campaign will be conducted from Friday, August 15th through Monday, September 1st. This enforcement project is being sponsored by a federal grant through the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. During this enforcement campaign, additional troopers will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols targeting impaired and dangerous drivers. Troopers have already scheduled a sobriety checkpoint for sometime this weekend in Pike County. Troopers encourage all motorists to call 911 or the closest Indiana State Police Post when they observe another motorist that may be impaired. Be prepared to give a description of the vehicle, location and direction of travel. The Indiana State Police are committed to traffic safety and will continue to conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to apprehend impaired drivers and to deter others from drinking and driving. |
