Friday was a very somber day for the community at Fort Hood, and that night the community took time out to honor the soldiers and family members impacted by this mass shooting.

A grief-stricken community honored the wounded and killed with a candlelight vigil. More than a hundred people filled the stands at a local stadium. Many shed tears as they listened to Fort Hood chaplain Doug Carver.

Several other churches in Killeen hosted prayer vigils to honor Fort Hood's fallen Friday night.

Killeen ISD also observed a moment of silence at 1:34pm Friday afternoon to remember yesterday’s events.
