Thursday, Apr 3, 2008 @09:25am CDT The students at Corpus Christi school in Evansville got to go somewhere they aren't normally allowed, the teacher's lounge. That's because that's where Principal Marty Craig was storing the 154 pairs of shoes the students collected during their reuse-a-shoe drive. The students helped Shetler Moving crews box up the old kicks and get them on the truck. Corpus Christi is one of more than a dozen tri-state schools rounding up beat up shoes so they can be recycled and turned into new playground surfaces.
