Reported by: Web Producer Wednesday, May 27, 2009 @07:43am CDT In some way or another cancer affects just about everyone and it can be devastating for a family. Advancements in science are making leaps and bounds but there is still no cure. In this week’s Family First we talked with a family who has made fighting cancer a family affair. Rachel Mohr has lost numerous loved ones to cancer. She decided to make a family tree to show her children how cancer has affected their lives. Green leaves represent family members who haven't went through cancer. Black leaves show members who have had cancer in the past or are living with it today Rachel says after completing the tree she realized nearly 50-percent of her family had been directly affected by cancer. Rachel and her family are gathering up support for the American Cancer Society's upcoming cancer prevention study called CPS 3. It’s a 30-year comprehensive study of cancer in the tri-state. Anyone between 30-and-65-years-old can sign up to participate in the cancer study at the Mt. Vernon Relay for Life and the Dubois County Relay for Life.
