Reported by: Web Producer Wednesday, Jun 11, 2008 @06:11pm CDT A new taxpayers group is forming in Evansville. "Taxpayers Voice" called an organizational meeting at Central Library Wednesday. The group formed when the "Vanderburgh County Taxpayers Association" opposed the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation's 149 million dollar school improvement plan. That opposition ultimately led to the EVSC putting the strategic plan on the November ballot as a referendum. "Taxpayers Voice" will work to make sure the referendum passes. The strategic plan includes building a new high school and middle school complex in northern Vanderburgh County and turning North High School into a middle school.
