    Governor Ryan's Sentence

    Should President Bush commute the sentence of former Illinois Governor George Ryan?
     Absolutely Not! If he couldn't do the time, he shouldn't have done the crime. I don't care how sick his wife is, or what his former political opponents are saying.
     Not now. I think he should serve more than 1-and-a-half years of a 6-and-a-half year sentence, but I'm not opposed to the next President addressing the issue down the road.
     Yes. Ryan has lost his pension, his dignity, his reputation, and a year-and -a-half of his freedom. He's done his time. The lesson has been learned. Let him go.
