Its all thanks to a new program in the sheriffs department. A group of officers started serving warrents before the sun even came up. With every knock on every door, they are on a mission to round up as many suspected criminals with oustanding warrants as they can get. For this stop theyre after 34 Audrey Householder who has an outstanding warrant for dealing cocaine. Householder is one of 40 theyre after on this day. "A new program to be proactive on warrants," says Detective John Book. But the number of wandering criminals in Henderson county is much larger than 40. Sheriff Ed Brady says its near 8 thousand. "Everyone of these people have victimized someone I think those victims deserve to bring these people to justice." Thats easier said then done. They expect to only get 30 percent of the people theyre looking for today. "Most of these people dont sit still long they rent they move around its difficult to locate them." But those four or five they do find are a few more that can finally get their day in court. Its a few less the sheriffs department has to find when theyre out searching for the thousands of others who are still on the lose That was only one run during the day. The sheriffs department did roundups all day long, serving 40 warrents. In total they arrested 17 people. They include Tara Austin for Failure to Comply, Carrie Bean, Aaron Cartwright for Failure to Appear, Cecily Davis, Samuel Green for Failure to Appear, Audrey Householder for Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Lisa Johnston for Trafficking, Possessing and Manufacturing Meth, Thomas Kennedy for Failure to Appear, Danny Langston for Failure to Appear, Dion McGuire for Failure to Comply, Emily Powell for Failure to Appear, Paul Sauer for Non-Support, Heather Spainhoward, David Stone for Failure to Appear and Trafficking and Possessing Drug Paraphernalia, Thomas Wedding Senior for Terroristic Threatening.
