Retired Lt. Colonel Nicholas Cheesman in his fifties, but will leave his students next month to answer his call to duty. The 52-year old Junior R.O.T.C. Instructor is retired from the military but is now returning. He is going to Iraq as part of a volunteer retiree recall. Lt. Colonel Cheesman never deployed during his 28 years in the military and thinks this is the culmination of his service. But for his students who have come to know and love him the news has been hard. Cadet John Walker says hes been like a dad calling him at home when he is sick. While Cadet Michelle Bryant says she is really upset and will miss him. Though he will miss them, Lt. Colonel Cheesman says he doesnt feel bad about leaving for a year because most of them are true leaders. He just hopes his service will give them a true idea of the commitment that is owed to ones country.
