Daviess Countys West Louisville Elementary School was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon, after an angry parent stormed into the building.
The Daviess County Sheriffs Department says it happened around 1 oclock.
Officers say an angry father entered the school, upset by the way a teacher had disciplined his child.
He demanded to speak to the teacher, but school officials refused to let him into the teachers classroom.
Authorities say he got very agitated and caused a scene.
The schools principal asked him to leave and he did, but officials decided to place to school on lockdown.
Officials say they made the decision because the father was extremely upset and hes also employed at a gun shop.
In light of the recent Virginia Tech shootings, officials felt it was better to err on the side of caution.
Law enforcement arrived on the scene and calmed the father down.
No arrests were made and no charges have been filed.
