Firefighter Applications

More than 300 people have applied to become part of the Evansville Fire department.
The application blitz has been going on for three weeks.
So far, there are more men and women applying than there are jobs.
Right now only four openings are left ... six fewer than normal.
Chief Dan Grimm says they usually have about 10 vacancies a year.
The salary of a Evansville firefighter is nearly 40-thousand dollars a year.
Individuals have until Friday to stop by the fire department and pick up an application.
