Nationwide War Protest comes to Evansville

About 50 anti-war activists took to the Four Freedoms monument in Evansville Wednesday evening, joining protesters in about 300 other U.S. cities. The rally is a response to President Bushs veto of an Iraq war spending bill that included a time table for an American troop withdrawal.
The House did not have the votes to override the veto.
Anti-war advocates say they dont think Washington politicians are listening to the will of the American people.
Those who organized the rally say there has been disagreement between those opposed to the war on the best way to draw attention to their cause. Those who came to the rally in Evansville shared differing views on the best way to bring troops home. Still, they say gatherings like Wednesdays give them a chance to reach a common ground, and be heard by a larger audience.
