GOP Presidential Candidates Voice Support For ID Card
(Simi Valley, CA) -- Republican presidential candidates voiced support for an ID card for immigrants during their first debate last night.
During the discussion on MSNBC, New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said such a card would amount to a "technological fence" and border patrol.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney added his support to the idea.
He said it would, quote, "allow us to know whos here legally, whos not, who can work and who cannot." The debate was held at the Reagan Presidential Library in California.

Senator Clinton Wants War Authority Repealed
(Washington, DC) -- New York Senator Hillary Clinton is proposing that Congress repeal the authority it gave President Bush in 2002 to invade Iraq.
The Democratic presidential hopeful joined with West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd in calling for a vote to end the authority as of October 11th, the fifth anniversary of the original vote.
Clintons new stance comes as negotiations get underway between Congressional leaders and the White House over a new war funding measure to replace the measure that President Bush vetoed Tuesday.

Queen Elizabeth Visits Jamestown
(Williamsbrug, VA) -- Queen Elizabeth the Second is getting the royal treatment in Virginia.
Today, the British monarch is treated to tours of Williamsburg and Jamestown.
Her visit to Jamestown comes ahead of the official celebration of 400 years since the first permanent British settlement in this country was established.
Yesterday, the British royal and her husband arrived in Richmond, Virginia.
She spoke to a joint session of the legislature and poured out her heart to victims of the Virginia Tech shootings and their families.
Tomorrow, the Queen and Prince Philip will check out the Kentucky Derby.

So-Called "DC Madam" Radio Interviews To Be Sold On Ebay
(Washington, DC) -- The alleged "DC Madam" is taking her story to eBay.
The "Washington Post" reports Deborah Palfrey is putting five, one-hour interviews she did last month with an Internet-radio host up for bid next week.
The starting price will be five-thousand dollars.
No names connected with Palfreys former escort service are revealed.

Plans For Arabic Public School Draw Opposition In New York
Plans to open up an Arabic public school in Brooklyn arent sitting well with some New Yorkers.
The Khalil Gibran International Academy was created to embrace New York Citys growing Arab population.
The school planned to be the first public school dedicated to the study of the Arabic language and culture, open to students of all backgrounds.
The plans were announced three months ago.
But the "New York Times" reports that some parents from a local elementary school are protesting the academy.
Even writers from local newspapers are taking sides in the debate, calling the academy a "madrassa" which teaches the Koran.

(Bangkok) -- The battle against global warming is affordable and the technology is available to slow the growth in greenhouse gas emissions.
Those conclusions came from climate experts after five days of talks.
The report is meant to review the latest science on the subject and ways to curb emissions.
It says a wide variety of technology is available to fight climate change such as nuclear, solar and wind power as well as more energy-efficient buildings.
