Its now up to local governments to decide when and where people can shoot off fireworks.
Governor Mitch Daniels signed the new bill into law on Tuesday.
The new legislation allows local governments to ban fireworks except for 12 days each year.. many of them on and around Independence day.
It was just last year the general assembly passed a law allowing people to shoot off fireworks and firecrackers all year round.
