EVSC Announces New Superintendent

Dr. Vince Bertram will step into the lead role at the EVSC. The EVSC superintendent search has been an exhausting process. Months of meetings, and two rounds of candidates. But, its finally come to an end. During a special Saturday session, the school board unanimously voted on, and announced that, Dr. Vince Bertram will be the new EVSC Superintendent. Bertram comes to Evansville from Lafayetter where he served as assistant superintendent. He says hes looking forward to his new role, "I understand how this school corporation effects this community and the enormity of that and Im up for the challenge. Im excited and ready to start it." Bertram says the top two issues he wants to tackle are reducing the achievement gap and lowering the dropout rate. Bertram will make $160,000/year, slightly higher than the national average for a school system the size of Evansvilles.
