Youve heard of the chicken who crossed the road? Well, this story is about the duck who crosses the finish line. Were talking about the 14th annual "Ducks on the Ohio" fundraiser. Evansvilles Goodwill Industries started adopting out ducks Monday morning. For five bucks - you can adopt a numbered rubber duck. Then, all the ducks will be dumped off a barge into the Ohio River on race day August 9th. The “lucky” duck who crosses the finish line first is worth $10-thousand dollars cash. The next five ducks are worth high-end prizes too. All of the proceeds go to fund Goodwills transitional housing facility. You can purchase ducks at area 5/3rd Bank locations, Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Unions, Goodwill Stores, or by calling 479-DUCK.
