The Boonville City Council held a second reading for the annexation of Warrick County property and it was approved. However, it has not been without some strong opposition from residents. The Boonville City Council voted for the annexation 4 to 1. It looks like 12-hundred acres of county property will soon become part of the city. The land is just west of Boonville between the city limits and Baker road. Those living in that area are known as the west Boonville Property Association. Theyve been against it from the start. They say theyll have to pay double the taxes and that they question the citys plan for the property. A third reading will be held August 7th..
