Child Hit & Killed in Chandler

Authorities say 6 year old Brooklyn Wilhite was riding her bike in the Pueblo Trailer Park community in Chandler around 5:30 Tuesday evening when an Allied Waste trash truck accidentally hit her. Emergency crews were quickly on the scene, and say she was found between the front and rear axles of the truck. The corner pronounced her dead on the scene. Her father told police that he had just saw her minutes before while he was taking out the trash. Both the driver of the truck and his helper stated that they did not see which direction that the child came from, and the driver did not see the child until he had hit her. The driver was given a alcohol test, which is standard procedure. Initial report: Warrick County Dispatch tells Fox 7 News a child has been killed in an accident at a trailer park in Chandler. The accident happened late Tuesday afternoon in the Pueblo trailer park community. Dispatchers tell us the child was struck by a trash truck and the coroner is on the scene at this hour. Officials could not tell us how old the child is. Fox 7 News has a crew headed to Chandler and will have more information on this story Tuesday night on Fox 7 News at 9:00 p.m.
