This week, the U.S. Senate is taking up immigration legislation.
Its legislation that would provide a path to legal status for the countrys estimated 12 million illegal immigrants, create a guest worker program, and increase border security.
Congressman Brad Ellsworth of Evansville agrees with securing our borders, but not the rest of the proposal. He says, "the bill under consideration by the Senate will reward the violation of our current immigration laws with amnesty. I join the vast majority of my constituents in believing this is wrong, and if the House considers legislation with similar provisions, i will not hesitate to stand up to congressional leadership and oppose it."
