Auto parts maker ATTC arrived in Perry County 7 years ago and instantly impressed local economic development officials. They took over a textiles factory that had closed just 30 days before, and have spent close to a quarter billion dollars since during 3 expansions. News that the company wanted to grown again came as no surprise to local economic development officials. ATTC plans to add 90 jobs during the next year, and expand its plant once again. Perry county residents will have the first chance at those jobs thanks to a custom tailored vocational training program that ATTC helped develop. It allows Perry County residents to get certified to do jobs for the company before they even apply. ATTC makes brake drums, rotors and differential cases for Toyota and will begin making engine and steering components for Toyota and other auto makers once the expansion is done.
