Its been a week since former USI basketball player Wes Attebury died from melanoma. Saturday afternoon his friends held a fundraiser for the wife and newborn son he left behind. Drinks, food, and a raffle - this could easily be a pre-game tailgate at one of the basketball games Wes Attebury used to play in. But its not -- its a fundraiser in his memory. All proceeds are going to Wess widow, Melissa, and their newborn son, Ryder. Ryder was born May 6th...Wes died May 19th. Organizers raised about $2,000 on Saturday. Theyre planning a concert in Wess memory next Sunday at Howell Park.
