New Area Codes

People who live or work in places like Henderson, Madisonville and Paducah need to start learning new numbers.
The Kentucky Public Service commission is changing the area code for extreme western Kentucky.
The commission has not said what the new area code will be -- but it will go into effect next April.
The change takes place because it was running out of numbers in the 2-7-0 area code.
Cities like Owensboro and bowling green will remain in the 2-7-0 area code.
