A pregnant woman rescued from a house fire yesterday is in the Intensive Care Burn Unit at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, but according to a family friend, Cheronda bell is fighting for her life., suffering from severe lung damage and burns on more than 35-percent of her body
Meanwhile, her unborn baby is reportedly stable, and doctors are getting a fetal heartbeat.
Bell, her husband and two year old son were trapped in their Lombard Avenue home by the fire, until AT&T employee John Stewart, working nearby saw the smoke and rushed to their aid.
He was able to pull the father and son to safety.
Moments later firefighters arrived and rescued Cheronda.
Husband Ernest, and son DJ may be released as early as tomorrow.
