Today the University began knocking down the old student center to make way for the new one.
Plans for the new building have been in the works for years.
It will be 90,000 square feet located in the center of campus.
The center will be home to everything from a cafeteria to the Universitys radio station.
It will be named for doctor william ridgway who is an University of Evansville philanthropist.
They expect the building to open during the 2008-2009 school year.
