Parents of EVSC students will have to pay more for textbook rental this fall.
The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation Board unanimously voted Monday to increase text book rental fees.
For elementary schoolers... fees will go up by more than 8 dollars per child for a total of roughly $150 per child per year.
For high schoolers - parents will pay more than four dollars more... for a total of $147 per child per year.
The contract that the district signed with the previous text book provider ended this school year
And in classes like Art- where students dont often use textbooks - parents will pay higher instructional fees.
This covers expendable resources, like art supplies or lab materials, that students use throughout the year.
The maximum amount parents will now pay increased from 6 dollars per semester to ten dollars.
