Cop Crashes

A Police officer in route to a domestic violence call ends up crashing her car into a front lawn. Officer Kathy Winters was heading north on First Ave last night when a white Volvo pulled into her lane. Winters swerved to miss the Volvo and ended up crashing into the front lawn of a house. The accident left her cruiser crushed between a light pole and a house. Fire crews had to extracate her from the cruiser and police said she was bleeding from the face due to an air bag injury. She may have suffered a leg injury as well. First Avenue was shut down for more than two hours.
