Earthquake Disaster Drill

If a seven point seven scale earthquake hit the area- would we be prepared?
Emergency officials answered that question by putting plans for a response into action.
Tuesday they began taking part in a three day Spill of National Significance Exercise.
A full scale exercise headed by the Emergency Management Agency, the EPA, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
Emergency Management officials simulated an operations center while the U.S. Coast Guard simulated an oil spill.
The mock spill extended 75 miles between the Ohio river and the Wabash river.
The U.S. Coast Guard working with other agencies made preparations for a clean-up.
While other agencies made plans for damages on land.
Evansville sits near the New Madrid fault line.
The last big earthquake in the area was a 5.0 magnitude quake in 2002.
