Bobby Norton, a nine year veteran of the Washington, Indiana fire department, knew Mark Kelsey very well. Norton says, "Ive known Mark and his brothers since we were kids." Like Norton, Mark Kelsey was also a Washington native, but Kelsey had moved away to work as a firefighter in South Carolina. Thats where he was killed in a warehouse fire on Monday. "Its hard whenever we lose a firefighter, but when you hear its a childhood friend - I mean thats rough. You just start thinking of all the different times you remember seeing them and doing things." Norton says althougth he and Mark were at different departments, in different states, the hometown and career bond they shared is unbreakable. Mark Kelseys funeral will be held on Tuesday at the Washington High School Gymnasium (600 Bedford Road) at 2:00 PM (Central) in Washington, Indiana. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM (Central) at the high school until the time of service.
