Preparing for combat is an everyday job for those on the frontline. 101st Airborne Division soldiers at Fort Campbell gave the media a sneak peek into what that means Tuesday. The media day event provided a look inside the physical demands of preparing for war. This included demonstrations of the training done at the Rascon school of medicine and the Air Assault school. Commanding General Jeffrey Schloesser says everyone gets this critical training. He says every soldier male or female no matter what their job is provided robust training each and everyday. Also included in the tour of Fort Campbell was a look into the family resource center, urban terrain training and marksmanship training. More than 30 thousand soldiers are assigned to the post. Fifteen thousand soldiers will deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan beginning in September.
