A FOLLOW UP TO A STORY WE BROUGHT YOU MONDAY. WE TOLD YOU ABOUT NORTH SIDE RESIDENTS WHO WERE CONSIDERING STARTING A PETITION DRIVE TO SAVE A TREE, BELIEVED TO BE 300 YEARS OLD, JUST OFF SAINT JOE AVENUE. THE TREE IS IN THE MIDDLE OF WHAT WILL LIKELY BECOME A SMALL APARTMENT COMPLEX. THE OWNER OF THE PROPERTY SAYS IT IS HIS HOPE TO KEEP THE TREE. RANDY FLOWERS SAYS HE IS GOING SO FAR AS TO NAME THE COMPLEX AFTER THE OLD TREE -- AND PART OF THE PLANS MAY EVEN INCLUDE MAKING A COMMONS AREA AROUND IT. HE ALSO SAYS THE CONCERNED NEIGHBORS NEVER CONTACTED HIM TO ASK ABOUT HIS PLANS.
