Students living in union county kentucky will soon be safer and healthier thanks to a Safe Routes to School project.
Wednesday Governor Ernie Fletcher awarded the county 120 thousand dollars.
This program is designed to make bicycling and walking to school safer.
Almost half the students in Union County live within 2 miles of the school.
The governor also presented more than 600 hundred thousand dollars for several road repairs.
