Auto Accident

A few tense moments in connection with a mid-afternoon accident on Evansvilles east side.
Police say it started around 3:00 in the 800 block of Bellemeade.
A driver told investigators he swerved to miss something on the road -- and when he did he ended up hitting a house.
The car hit the house near the area of a gas meter -- which caused another problem.
Crews were called to the scene to shut off the gas.
No injuries were reported
