Gibson County - Taxing Question

Property tax relief is on the minds of Gibson County officials. The County council and the County commission got together to look at several new options the state has for lowering property taxes -- but all of them call on increasing the countys income tax then using that revenue to lower property taxes.
The council and commissioners have not set a time table on when to take any votes -- but they say they are looking for public opinion before making any decisions.
