The owner of Casino Aztar is drawing criticism in Atlantic City, New Jersey too. Thats according to an article in "Las Vegas City Life" brought to our attention by Mayor Johnathen Weinzapfels office. The article says that when the CEO of Columbia Sussex -- William Yung, the third -- applied for an interim license at the Topicana Casino, he said, "there may be some job cuts through attrition. But since then 691 employees have been laid off. Since the company took over here in Evansville back in January the relationship between the city and the casino has grown cold. The city says the company promised the gaming commission there would be only 20 initial layoffs - but last march the city learned there would be at least 70 in the first year and a half of ownership.
