If youre out on the roads this 4th of July weekend you wont be alone.
Kentucky State Police are kicking off their "Blue Lights across the Bluegrass" campaign looking for impaired drivers, speeders, and those not wearing seatbelts.
Today officers and residents were at Henderson County high school listening to information and testimonials from those injured in serious accidents.
Kentucky State Trooper Joe Woe says they want to send a strong message in order to reduce fatalities.
"These collisions are preventable. A responsible person behind the wheel needs to look in the mirror ask themselves what can they do to prevent these falaties," says Woo.
According to statistics the 4th of July weekend is one of the deadliest times to be on Kentucky highways.
