Today was a special homecoming for members of Fort Campbell, Kentuckys 101st Airborne. The group just completed an extended tour in the middle east. More than one-hundred fifty families came out to celebrate.
This unit logged more than eight million miles over the past twelve months, ferrying cargo and other supplies all over Iraq and Kuwait.
The most recent tour for this group was broken up from the normal division deployment into a smaller detachment.
This is all part of the Bush administration and pentagon policy of a staggered deployment for troops from the same military base.
