MADISONVILLE IS MAKING PET OWNERS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR PETS ACTIONS. THE CITY COUNCIL VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO ADOPT PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO ITS EXISTING NUISANCE AND VICIOUS ANIMAL ORDINANCE. THE ORDINANCE WAS INTRODUCED LAST MONTH. THE CITY CREATED THE ORDINANCE AFTER RECIEVING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM MADISONVILLE RESIDENTS ABOUT NUISANCE PETS. THE NEW ORDINANCE DEFINES WHAT CONSTITUTES NUSIANCE AND VICIOUS ANIMALS AND LIMITS WHO CAN OWN THEM. IT REQUIRES PET OWNERS TO PROVIDE PROPER FOOD AND WATER AND ADEQUATE SHELTER THAT PREVENTS THEIR PETS FROM ESCAPING.
