An Oakland City woman is facing drinking and child neglect charges after taking her children for a late-night swim. Police arrested 35 year old Leslie Allen Saturday at new lake in Oakland City. They charged her with child endangerment, resisting-fleeing law enforcement, and public intoxication. Police ordered Allen and her 12 and 15 year-old children out of the lake just after midnight. Allen resisted but finally emerged from the lake grabbing hold of an officers shirt to regain her balance. A breathalyzer test revealed Allen had a 0.219 blood alcohol level. A similar incident happened two weeks ago at the lake... now city officials are considering a ban on all alcohol at the lake. Oakland City Police Chief Alec Hensley says its something that will be brought up in the next council meeting. He says he talked with the mayor and they are going to put it on the agenda. The city council meeting will take place next Tuesday.
