Coffeemaker-Recall
400-Thousand Coffeemakers Recalled For Fire Hazard
(Washington, DC) -- Hundreds of thousands of coffeemakers sold at Walgreens stores nationwide are being recalled because of a fire hazard.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says 392-thousand Signature Gourmet and Kitchen Gourmet 12-cup coffeemakers are affected by the recall.
The commission says an electrical failure in the machines can cause them to ignite.
The Chinese-made coffeemakers were sold between August 2003 and last December.
Florida-based Atico International USA distributed the coffeemakers, which are white with a glass pot.
They bear model number XQ-673B and item number W14A4984 along with date codes 0503 -- for May 2003 -- through 0706 -- for July 2006.
