Drivers on Evansville east side made a shocking discovery this afternoon, a little boy, wandering in the busy street. The child is safe now, thanks to a store clerk who took him in. But, the fate of his parents remains a questionmark. Just before 1 oclock this afternoon, motorists along Weinbach reported seeing the little boy wandering in the street. Moments later, Veronica Whoolery says he followed a customer into her shop. She told the customer "no kids allowed". Thats when she discovered, this little boy wasnt with anyone. Police on scene say the child appeared to be mentally handicapped. Veronica Whoolery kept the little boy content with candy until child protective services arrived. The boys parents were eventually located, but there is no word on whether they will face any charges. Or even why the boy was wandering these streets in the first place.
