(Indianapolis) -- Fans of deep-fried food are having a ball in Indiana.
The Indiana State Fair opens this morning with a lighter-than-air balloon race, but plenty of attention is being paid to something a little heavier-than-air.
State Fair spokesman Andy Klotz says the fair is featuring deep-fried Pepsi this year.
The Indiana State Fair has garnered headlines in the past for its deep-fried Twinkies, deep-fried Snickers bars and deep-fried cream puffs.
However, the fair is requiring its vendors to use trans-fat-free oil this year, so people can eat the calorie-heavy items with a little less guilt.
The Indiana State Fair is believed to be the first State Fair in the nation to require trans-fat-free oil for its vendors.
Later this week Fox 7s Jason Claspell travels to the Indiana State Fair stay tuned for his exclusive reports.
