Gibson County Hearing

Lots of people in Gibson county jumped at the chance to respond to a call for the re-assessment of property values.
The long line of taxpayers waiting to voice their opinion on the reassessment of property values were in the countys courthouse Monday.
Some feeling it is a necessary move while others felt such a process is coming too late.
In the end, local government finance commissioner Cheryl Musgrave decided that a partial re-assessment of commercial properties not homes was in order.
She says the evidence does show that a second look at commercial and property is warranted.
Its just a question of how it will be done and which set of details apply.
Musgrave says the next step is to take findings from this meeting to the governor and he will make the final decision on business reassessments.
Vanderburgh county passed a review of its assessment process.
Musgrave says no new counties have been selected for reassessment as of yet but more could be ordered in the weeks ahead.
