Golf Course Change

A Tri-state golf course may have to close.
City parks department officials want to turn Hamilton Golf Course into a park.
The course is a privately developed facility at U.S. Highway 41 and Old Petersburg road, but the land is owned by the county. It has been leased to the Bob Hamilton charitable golf foundation since 1974.
The lease expires in 2009.
A task force was formed in January to assess the countys options for the property.
Those studies are expected to be completed next month with the task force making its recommendation by the end of the year.
