To many it represents the last official party of the summer. "Ski Day on the Ohio" attracts thousands and this year was no exception. It was supposed to be held at *pump out* island across from downtown Evansville but that location is now too small to accommodate the increasing number of boats. Even with the larger space conservation officers still had to work to keep everyone in line. Nine officers patrolled the area checking for life jackets and making sure there was no reckless boating. Tickets were handed out for those offenses but officers say drinking is their biggest problem.

Indiana Conservation Officer Mike Kellner says they want people drink responsibly and if someone is going to be operation a boat by law they have to be legally sober. Kellner says in all four tickets and one warning was handed out. That's down from the 12 tickets and the 8 warnings given out last year. He says there was also two boat accidents and one near drowning but no one was seriously injured.
