Cpl. Powell-Kerchief Funeral

Funeral services for Will Powell-Kerchief were held today at the Crossroads Christian church.
The Evansville native was laid to rest among family and friends.
They began arriving at the church just before 11 this morning to say their final goodbyes.
The memorial service was one the 21 year old wanted after seeing a similar National Guard service.
Wills Aunt Anita Powell says he talked about it and made arrangements before he left for Iraq.
But though he died while serving his country near Baghdad on August 16th Powell says the soldiers legacy lives on.
They remembered him during the church service through shared memories and a video tribute.
While Patriot Guard riders making up the flag line outside the church remembered him by wearing dog tags made in his honor .
The service lasted just under two hours and when it was over Corporal Will Powell-Kerchief was among fellow soldiers....on his way to his final resting place.
He was laid to rest at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Commanding General for the 101st Airborne division Jeffrey Schloesser presented the family with an award in Wills honor.
