A wanted fugitive was caught two days after allegedly assaulting and fleeing from police in Spencer County.
Police say they received numerous tips that 32 year old Billy Mitchell of Loogootee was hiding in a home in Huntingburg.
Dale town marshals and Huntingburg officers arrived to arrest him around 9 oclock Monday night.
The officers say Mitchell jumped a fence, but they caught him just a half block from the residence.
An officer had stopped him in Spencer County Sunday night for outstanding warrants in Knox and Lawrence counties, but Mitchell reportedly hit him and took off running.
The suspect is currently being held in Dubois County Security Center for resisting law enforcement.
